Poem Competition

The Rotary Club of Dillibazar–Kathmandu successfully organized a High school-level poetry competition on Friday in Maitidevi under Rotary’s Basic Education and Literacy Program.
The event was chaired by Club President Prem Kumar Oli, with Laxman Gamnage, President of Sisnopani Nepal, as the chief guest. The distinguished panel of judges included renowned literary figures Prof. Bamdev Sharma, Raghunath Adhikari, and Punya Acharya. The program was further graced by Immediate Past President Sagarnidhi Tiwari, Past Presidents Dr. Parthiveshwor Timilsina and Punya Prasad Poudel, Secretary Sandhya Rajbhandari along with Samjhana Pokharel, Indira Poudel, and Rotarian Bishnu Parajuli as special guests.
Altogether, 20 students from seven schools across the Kathmandu Valley showcased their talent in poetry writing. Anshu Sharma of HEMS School won first place, followed by Sehna Rajbhandari of Akshara Academy in second and Aditya Gajurel of Little Flower School in third. Consolation prizes were awarded to Sajana Khanal, Gaurav Poudel, Pranjal Nepal, and Anirudra Baral.
The winners received cash prizes along with certificates: Rs. 3,000 for the first position, Rs. 2,000 for second, Rs. 1,000 for third, and Rs. 500 each for the consolation prize recipients. Past President Dr. Timilsina delivered the welcome remarks, while Sujita Adhikari coordinated and conducted the program.
Chief guest Gamnage praised the young participants for composing remarkable poems in a short time and lauded the Rotary Club of Dillibazar for its commendable literary initiative. The event concluded with certificate distribution to all participants.
