Project Description

The Rotary Club of Dillibazaar, continuing its tradition of community service, successfully organized a free health camp and the annual 40+ marathon program this year. The marathon was held in collaboration with the Maitidevi–Dillibazaar 40+ Youth Group, drawing enthusiastic participation from the local community. In the competition, Bal Chaulagai secured first place, followed by Santosh Dhungel in second and Sujan Shrestha in third. The winners were honored with prizes and certificates in recognition of their achievement.
Alongside the marathon, a comprehensive health camp was conducted to benefit local residents. Alpha Care Diagnostic Center, Matrika Eye Centre, and Himal Hospital provided free checkups during the campaign, which included blood tests, eye examinations, whole-body checkups, and a blood donation program. Many participants expressed satisfaction, particularly those suffering from chronic illnesses and eye-related problems, as they were able to access much-needed health services directly within their community.
Program coordinator and immediate past president, Sagarnidhi Tiwari, highlighted that the initiative not only raised awareness about health but also had a direct and positive impact on the lives of many individuals. Club President Prem Wali further emphasized that such initiatives strengthen the bond between the Rotary Club and the local community while also enhancing Rotary’s public image.
The event was attended by club officials, social workers, residents, and representatives from various sectors. Organizers noted that active community participation made the program more effective. The Rotary Club of Dillibazaar has long been engaged in social responsibility programs such as regular health camps, blood donation drives, and student health check-ups, and officials affirmed that these efforts will continue in the future.
